Indianapolis Company Makes Clothes Out of Corn - Newsroom - Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick
The new clothing is made from the first and only "greenhouse neutral" polymer in the world. I am left wondering if Indiana will eventually make everything out of corn - automotive fuel, clothing, food, etc. Don't discount soy, though. I'm sure there's more to come from the soybean as well.

Menus, Shopping Lists, and Television Shows about Aldi's
Turns out, there are two entire sets of menus planned entirely around shopping lists that can be purchased at Aldi!
The original, Aldi Menu Planner, and the followup, Aldi Menu Planner - Fall/Winter Meals, are both full of interesting, reasonably healthy fare that can be purchased on the cheap.
Seems Aldi also starred on an episode of Unwrapped, on the Food Network.
Find the local Aldi store in Kokomo on US 31 North, just south of Sycamore St., right across from the Shell gas station.

Pimp My Races!
Drama and Excitement Build As The 2006 KISS Series Is Ready To Open
An area native writes:
An area native writes:
I grew up in this area of Indiana, and frequented the Kokomo Speedway, known for being the home of the non-winged sprint cars. In 2005, this "track’s surface has been significantly reworked and surrounded with new walls and fencing." While I am no longer in Indiana, I am excited to know of these improvements. I am also excited to think that this track of my youth may finally gain some national attention. The final leg of the 2006 KISS series begins with the race at Kokomo, and it ought to prove a worthwhile event for anyone to attend.

In The News
This week in Kokomo, police conducted a sting operation in Kokomo Reservoir Park. The sting lasted two days, during which time no less than six old men (aged 58, 60, 60, 67, 69, and 73) approached the undercover officer "seeking sexual gratification." One of the men "grabbed the officer's genitals." They were all charged with either misdemeanor public indecency, misdemeanor battery, or misdemeanor indecent exposure.

WIRED Initiative
The Peru Tribune :: Peru, Indiana - Region to receive economic development funds
The North Central region of Indiana (Miami, Wabash, Howard, Tipton, Cass, Fulton, White, Carroll, Tippecanoe, Warren, Fountain, Clinton, Montgomery and Benton) will receive these funds, as a part of the WIRED initiative, or Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development, and they will be paid over three years. This grant was spurred due to the low percentage of adults with Bachelor's degrees (only 1 in 8) in North Central Indiana. This rate is one of the lowest in the state of Indiana.

Galactic Guide to Kokomo
A hilarious article - full of laughs!
Project Galactic Guide for Kokomo, Indiana, USA, Earth
Project Galactic Guide for Kokomo, Indiana, USA, Earth
An amazingly low number of books have been written on Kokomo. By some remarkable coincidence, this happens to almost exactly match, with a somewhat pathetic precision, the total amount of interest that this city represents for the rest of the Universe. There is only one reasonable advice to give to the hitchhiker who would plan to stop in Kokomo: forget it.

Do you make $11.36 an hour?
Indiana Senate Democratic Caucus: "A citizen with one child of any age in Howard county needs to make at least $11.36 an hour to be considered 'self-sufficient'. The Self-Sufficiency Standard measures how much income is needed for a family of a certain composition in a given place to adequately meet their basic needs - without public or private assistance."
